From the early 20th century to the early 21th.

I have an author that I love: it is a old lady called Hannah Whitall Smith. She was a quaker and her books help me a lot, because she doesn't speak about experiences with God, and feelings and things like we see today in our churches. She talks about a life of faith. And I think she is totally biblical. It is awesome how a woman of another time - more than a century ago - can help me today. I praise God for her life, her studies, her books. It is so good... Try it. You will love indeed.

My students: my challenge

I'm a teacher. This is a big deal indeed. Teens today give me a lot of work. Not only the academic work, but I worry about their lives. Some teens are full of problems and I try to help. Sometimes I can. Sometimes I can't. It is so sorry when I don't know or can't do something to help them... I get angry with parents that don't care about their children: don't go to parent's meeting, don't check notes and so on... Wish God could use me in these lives. I feel worthless in some occasions.

Books in sunny Rio de Janeiro

Always love them. Books. Of all kinds.Small ones, big ones. All of them. I begin read in English in 2008. Before this date, I read only in my first language: Portuguese. More: I'm a portuguese teacher. But books that are translated cust so much more. Then, I began to read the original. I used to import the books. It was very expensive, although cheaper than buy in portuguese. October, 2010, I got a kindle. A wonderful device that allows me to download lots of books. Easy. Love it. Nowadays, I buy books in both languages and buy e-books.
I read in beach, in the bus, in the car, in the school. Everywhere. But, let's be honest: it is very hard to imagine a mystery in a sunny day in the beach!!!  I think about rain, castles and so on. The only mystery I know in a beach is "Murder under the sun" , Agatha Christie. Well, perhaps I'll write one. Something like: "The bloody sand". What do you think?
